Jaisalmer Introduction

Jaisalmer lies not far from the border of India-Pakistan in the heart of Thar Desert. This city cannot boast of very high quality facilities but its battered past manages to confound its spectator.

Jaisalmer covers an area of 126.27 sq. km. Most of the People here are either Hindus, Muslims or Jain. The main languages spoken here are Marwari, Hindi and English.

There are many historic monuments here which qualifies Jaisalmer as a very sought out tourist place on the most western edge of Rajasthan. The Jain temples and harelips exhibit the grandeur of the kings who ruled here in the past. The mighty Jaisalmer fort stands as a testimony to the battles fought here in the past. When you look at Jaisalmer it appears as a painting, of a scene out of Arabian Nights.
